Published Monday 26 December 2005, updated Sunday 23 March 2008, by Carine Carpentier
A bilingual version of the site (French/English) was necessary for the participation of our Zooarch English-speaking colleagues. So here is the new version of "Archéozoo"!

Public interface

In public interface you can very easily, from any page, switch from a language to another clicking on the small flag on the right top (see picture below).

Private interface

You can now write our articles in 2 languages and link them easily in the private interface with the new version of SPIP 1.8.2. In practical terms, with pictures, here is how to make in the private interface.

The site has been split into 2 main sections corresponding to each language: "English version" et "French version". These 2 sections are organized according to a same plan. For convenience, inside these 2 main groups, site’s sections and subsections are organized and numbered on the same way.

When you write an article in English do that in the "English version" of the site. When the article is finished keep in memory the number allocated by SPIP to this paper (on the left top). Then, you go in the "French version " of the site and you right in section and subsection corresponding our french version of the article. When this 2nd version is finished open out the insert "ARTICLE LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATIONS" and write down the number of the english article. Think to verify that Pthe language by default pof this 2nd version is French.

You press the submit button and the 2 articles are linked and will be accessible on line. In the the insert "ARTICLE LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATIONS" are now our mein article ("reference article") and our traduction.

If you have illustrations with captions, think to download in our traduction these pictures and change the caption in the good language!

If you can’t translate our article, it will be good to translateat least the title in the French version and write just write in the text part "Traduction à venir...". Responsibles of the site will do their best for make translations. By the way, the site is looking for voluntaries for texts translation. We appeal for volunteers !!

In addition, if you have the least problem or questions not hesitate to contact me.
